Tamara Freeman-Nichols, Ph.D., CCC-SLP

Tamara Freeman-Nichols, Ph.D., CCC-SLP has enjoyed a career in speech-language pathology for over 20 years. She received a B.A. in Mass Media Arts and a M.A. in Communicative Sciences & Disorders (CSAD) from Hampton University. She went on to earn a Ph.D. in Educational Policy, Planning and Leadership from The College of William and Mary.

 Tamara has practiced as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist with several divisions in the Hampton Roads area. She has also been a faculty member in the Department of CSAD at Hampton University where she has worked in several roles to include Distance Learning Coordinator, Assistant Professor, and Coordinator of Graduate Studies. She currently practices as a Speech-Language Pathologist for New Kent County Public Schools and Adjunct Professor at Hampton University.

 Tamara enjoys promoting the fields of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology through service, mentorship, and advocacy. She has served as the Speech-Language-Hearing Association of Virginia’s (SHAV) President and Vice President for Governmental and Professional Affairs.
