Communication Disorders Foundation of Virginia
"The mission of the Communication Disorders Foundation of Virginia is to recognize individuals
in the area of communication disorders through scholarships and awards.

The Foundation began in 1985 as a committee of the Speech-
Language-Hearing Association of Virginia (SHAV). The purpose
of the committee was to raise and award scholarship funds for graduate studies in the field of communication disorders. A year later it was established as an independent Foundation with a Board of Trustees and 501 (c)(3) status.
Two student scholarships are awarded annually to graduate students in speech-language pathology or audiology studying in Virginia. Additionally, a scholarship is awarded annually to a hearing-impaired Virginian graduating from high school and entering a program of higher education or vocational training.
The Foundation also administers the Martha Mullins-Callendar Award, recognizing leaders in the field of communication disorders.
